The music of Joe Adams ensnared me from the first time I heard it. The soulful richness and complete accessibility is moving and exhilarating, as there are new colors, new combinations of sound and a new addition to the compositional style. There is a complex structure that our ears haven’t heard since the large works of Richard Strauss. He has the ability to mix emotions, from elation to fury, mixing rage with sensuality, and calm relaxation with the giddiness of a child. In combination with these new mixtures he also writes extremely well for every instrument! Adams’ music is the complete package and I can’t wait for my chance to sing it!
